CREW 432
CREW 432
Crew 432 is our affiliated venturing program. They are a separate, yet connected, organization (they are a part of Venturing BSA and not Scouts BSA, yet the two programs are still connected) that is tied to our troop.
Scouts who are between the ages of 14 and 21 have the opportunity to participate in venturing where leadership and activities are the sole focus. Venturing is entirely youth-led, and every decision, from the by-laws to the activities, is made by the youth and their elected leadership team. Venturing additionally offers leadership opportunities for youth from the Crew level, to the council level, and even the national level in the form of Venturing Officers Associations. Venturing offers its own set of organized activities, training, and leadership that makes it a unique and fun experience for any eligible youth.
Leadership Opportunities in Venturing
The Venturing program is based on the ALPS model. ALPS stands for Adventure, Leadership, Personal Growth, and Service. This model represents the four main pillars of program in Venturing and BSA. In Venturing, there is a lot of opportunity for leadership through crew leadership and Venturing Officers Associations. Shown below are the levels of leadership available in venturing, starting at the smallest level, our crew (432), and ending at the largest level, the National Venturing Officers Association (NVOA).
