Brownsea NYLT is an intense, week-long, youth oriented leadership training experience sponsored by the North Florida Council and held at Camp Shands. Highly qualified youth staff, under the supervision of adult advisors, conduct the training using the National Youth Leadership Training Course syllabus, as published by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Participation in Brownsea is by Scout Master recommendation. If you are interested in attending Brownsea 2010, download the application and talk to Mr. Pollitt.
Participant Requirements:
- Be at least 14 years old by the start of the course
- Be at least the rank of First Class Scout
- To be or to soon be a Troop Leader; a Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, or Patrol Leader.
- btain Scoutmaster’s recommendation and parents’ approval on the Brownsea NYLT Participation Application Form
- Provide a completed copy of BSA Personal Health and Medical Record
When: 2011 Brownsea will take place July 24-30, 2010 at Camp Shands.
Cost: The cost is $220; $200 if paid by May 31, 2011. Cost includes all meals, camping, patch, printing, T-shirt, and activity expenses.
